Official Information: Eindhoven Airport is a smoke free terminal. This means that it is not permitted to smoke or vape in the terminal, on the terraces, the apron and in the parking garages and busterminal. Smoking is only permitted at the forecourt in front of the terminal. This means that smoking is not possible once you have passed the security check. The same policy applies for vaping.
Eindhoven Airport (EIN) is the second‑busiest airport in the Netherlands, serving over 6.8 million passengers per year and acting as a major low‑cost gateway for the southern part of the country. Located about 7–8 km west of Eindhoven, it operates as a civil–military facility with a single 3,000‑meter runway shared with Eindhoven Air Base. The airport is dominated by carriers such as Ryanair, Transavia, Wizz Air, and TUI fly, offering more than 75–80 European destinations, mostly short‑ and medium‑haul leisure routes. Its compact single terminal is undergoing phased expansion, with a major redevelopment planned through 2027, including a runway‑renovation closure. EIN plays a strategic role in the Brainport Eindhoven tech region and continues to grow through sustainability initiatives, digital upgrades, and expanded seasonal routes.
