Çukurova International Airport is a new, modern air hub in southern Turkey, located in the Tarsus district of Mersin Province and serving both Mersin and Adana. Opened on 10 August 2024, it was built to replace the older Adana Şakirpaşa Airport, which could no longer expand due to its city centre location. The airport features two 3,500 metre concrete runways, a large modern terminal, and an annual passenger capacity of 9 million, with Pegasus Airlines using it as an operating base. Its strategic position near major transport links and the wider Çukurova region makes it a key gateway for tourism, trade, and cargo, significantly boosting regional connectivity.
