Antalya Airport (AYT) is a major international gateway to Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, handling tens of millions of passengers each year and serving as one of the country’s busiest travel hubs.
Antalya Airport, located about 13 km northeast of Antalya’s city centre, plays a central role in the region’s tourism-driven economy. Originally opened in 1960, it has grown into Turkey’s third‑busiest airport, welcoming over 39 million passengers in 2025 and connecting travellers to more than 100 international destinations. Its layout includes two international terminals and one domestic terminal, all equipped with restaurants, duty‑free shops, lounges, and efficient passenger services designed to handle heavy seasonal traffic. The airport also features multiple long runways that meet international standards, supporting high flight volumes—especially during the summer months when over 1,000 flights per day operate to and from Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.
AYT serves as a hub or focus city for major carriers such as Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, SunExpress, and Corendon Airlines, while also accommodating numerous seasonal and charter operators including Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Ryanair, and British Airways. Its extensive connectivity makes it a key entry point for visitors heading to Antalya’s beaches, resorts, and historic attractions. The airport spans a large area with modern facilities, including 9,300 parking spaces, EV charging stations, and shuttle services linking terminals.
Recognized for its service quality—having once been named Best Airport in Europe in its passenger category—Antalya Airport continues to expand and modernize, supported by major international investment aimed at improving capacity, sustainability, and overall passenger experience.
