There are smoking facilities inside the terminal.
2026, May update from Zonia.: Toward Gate 10 to end. Stairs up and left side of restaurant area is very big garden, inside is smoking place.
2026, April update from MC.: Next to Gate 21 in Terminal 1 go past the restrooms and there is an outdoor smokers area. See photos.
2025 July update from Ellen.: Terminal 1 - outdoor smoking area at Sky Garden is still open. When near gate 10, turn right and go up the short escalators. The Sky Garden is to the left.
2025 update from Tony S.: If you are lucky enough to arrive at gates 201-220 there is an observation deck just before the rail transit to the main terminal where smoking is permitted.
Feedback from , April 2024: “Observation Deck” is open near gate 202 and behind the main escalator near gate 209 in the main hall is open. Hong Kong International Airport T1.

Update from Ka Wing p., May 2023: For Hong Kong airport: The Terminal 1 sky garden smoking area is back open. Next to Gate 10 with an elevator going up, then turn left.
Important Update from ,March 2023: As of the 1st of March 2023, the sky garden is now back open. Located near gate 10, its a small outdoor terrace with plenty of ash trays. Indoor smoking rooms remain closed.

63, and 64.
