Brasília–Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport (BSB) is the main airport serving Brazil’s capital and is located in the Lago Sul administrative region, about 13 km from central Brasília. Opened in 1957 and renamed in 1999 to honor former president Juscelino Kubitschek, the airport operates under Inframerica and covers roughly 2,900 hectares of property. It features two long asphalt runways—3,300 meters and 3,200 meters—and functions as a major hub for Gol and LATAM. Some of its facilities are shared with the Brasília Air Force Base, reflecting its dual public‑military role. Over the years, BSB has grown into one of Brazil’s busiest airports, handling more than 16 million passengers annually and offering a modern terminal complex with extensive services and amenities.
