Smoking is only permitted in designated areas outside the terminals.
Update from Thomas M., August 2023: No smoking area anywhere in the airport, you have to do it outside the airport and the international terminal is quite a distance away (and they are not linked) so not an option
The smoking cafe is located at the far end behind the coffee shop (go along the windows overlooking the apron). As per early 2024, the few is 3000 Angolan Kwanza (about EUR 3.50) which includes a coffee and WiFi. Feedback from Rene, Jan 2024.
Luanda airport has a smoking cafe upstairs in the departure area. Relax with a coffee beer or cool drink and that last cigarette. Feedback from Steve on the 11th July 2018.
Feedback from Pedro 4th June 2017: It has a
coffee shop in the departure terminal. It has a fee of 1500 AOA
(around 9 USD) for you to smoke.
Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport, located in Luanda’s Maianga district, served as Angola’s main gateway for nearly seven decades. Handling millions of passengers annually, it was a central hub for both domestic and international travel. On March 1, 2026, the airport officially ceased all commercial flight operations, following the long-anticipated opening of the Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport, situated about 40 km south of the capital. While no longer hosting passenger services, Quatro de Fevereiro will remain operational in a new capacity, repurposed as a maintenance, training, and aviation support center, preserving its role in Angola’s aviation landscape.
