Argentina no longer has a vaping ban—the country lifted its 2011 prohibition in May 2026 and replaced it with a strict regulatory framework governing all alternative nicotine products. Under the new rules, vapes, heated‑tobacco devices, and nicotine pouches may now be imported and sold legally, but only within tight controls that aim to dismantle the country’s large illicit market. Regulations include bans on flavours, a prohibition on disposable vapes, nicotine‑concentration limits, mandatory product registration and traceability, and strict age restrictions, with sales to anyone under 18 treated the same as traditional tobacco violations. Advertising targeting minors is forbidden, and manufacturers must meet quality‑control and safety‑standard requirements. These measures are enforced through Argentina’s new Registry of Tobacco and Nicotine Products (RPTN), which has authority to sanction violators, seize non‑compliant products, and combat smuggling.
