Smoking at Gatwick Airport (LGW)

Smoking Rating

Before and After Security Smoking

Smoking is only permitted in designated areas outside the terminals.

Official feedback from Gatwick Enquiry Team, 14th February 2017: We only have a smoking area before you proceed through security. There is no smoking after security.

This report seems to be False: A report has come in that there maybe a smoking area in the north terminal. From Sha 13th Febrauary 2017:  There is a smoking room airside in Gatwick Terminal North. I used it recently. You follow the signs for smoking and you find yourself in a room that has two external walls replaced by a grill. That's how they managed to construct a smoking room. i e. it is not "substantially enclosed".

Confirmation would be appreciated as Gatwick always had a very hardcore anti-smoking rules inside the terminal.

There are no smoking facilities inside the terminal. South Terminals outside smoking is a good few minutes walk through the airport, across the read by the carpark. So be prepared for this if your looking to catch flights.

North Terminals outdooe smoking area is more convenient than the other terminals.

For connecting flights you must enter the United Kingdom and smoke outside terminal then go through Security again for your flight.
