EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg is a uniquely binational international airport located in Saint‑Louis, France, serving the neighboring cities of Basel in Switzerland, Mulhouse in France, and Freiburg im Breisgau in Germany. It’s one of the only airports in the world jointly operated by two countries, with both French and Swiss sectors and multiple IATA codes—BSL, MLH, and EAP—reflecting its shared identity. Opened in 1946, the airport has grown into an important regional hub, particularly for easyJet Switzerland, and offers convenient access to three nations within minutes. Its unusual governance, cross‑border design, and strategic location make it a fascinating example of international cooperation in aviation.
