After Security Smoking

2026, April update from Frykoz.: There is a smoking area in the Apron Bar opposite Gate 8. It’s currently under renovation, and the smoking area is officially for customers only, but you can still walk in and smoke there.

2025, April update from Tam: I flew from BTS this morning, just wanted to update you that the IQOS smoking lounge is for vapes only, no cigarettes/cigars.   The cafe/bar outside gate 8 (before passport control) is currently closed/under construction, so the only smoking area is the cafe downstairs, after passport control, by gate 10. No purchase necessary.

2024, June update from Andrej: I was flying from Bratislava Airport on 3rd June 2024 and there was a new IQOS smoking lounge right next to the Mastercard Caproni Lounge opposite the Gate 1. According to my information it's opened 24/7. Below there is 2 photos - map of the airport where it's officially pinned and my own photo of the place Hope this will help other travellers. Have a nice day!

Bratislava, Slovakia airport. Alongside the one that you have listed, there's one more smoking area. It's located in front of gate 10, after the passport control. It's within the Coffeeshop company. Feedback from Lubov C. on the 4th May 2018.

Bratislava International Airport (BTS), officially known as M. R. Štefánik Airport, is the main international airport of Slovakia, located about 9 km northeast of central Bratislava.

Bratislava Airport (IATA: BTS, ICAO: LZIB) serves as a key aviation hub for the Slovak capital and also functions as a convenient low‑cost alternative to Vienna International Airport, which lies roughly an hour’s drive away. The airport spans the municipalities of Bratislava‑Ružinov, Bratislava‑Vrakuňa, and Ivanka pri Dunaji, and has been in operation since 1951, later being renamed in honor of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik.

BTS features two concrete runways—Runway 04/22 (2,900 m) and Runway 13/31 (3,190 m)—capable of handling medium‑ to large‑sized aircraft. It is categorized as 4E for aircraft operations and category 7 or 8 for rescue services. The airport handled 2.4 million passengers in 2025, along with nearly 29,000 aircraft movements, reflecting its role as a growing regional gateway.

Airlines operating at Bratislava Airport include Ryanair, Wizz Air, AirExplore, Smartwings Slovakia, and Air Horizont, with seasonal and charter services connecting the city to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. The airport also hosts maintenance facilities such as Austrian Technik Bratislava and East Air Company, supporting regional aviation operations.

BTS is easily accessible via the D1 motorway, with clear signage and multiple public transport links, including Bus No. 61 to the main railway station and Bus No. 96 toward Petržalka. Its catchment area spans four countries—Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic—making it a strategically positioned airport for cross‑border travel.
