Before Security Smoking

Update from Anja, November 2022: Smoking is tolerated around the bus stop for the S1 bus to Khaosan on the liwest level.

Update from Anja, October 2022: On the ground floor at entrance 8 (where the buses start) is a pedestrian way over the road to the parking facility. Follow it across the road and you find a smoking area on the right next to the entrance of the parking lot.

Update from Gilbert, October 2022: Landside, smoking corner exists on the very end of the curb near door 1 (on the other end of the building near door 10). There are ashtrays, but this seems to be a "tolerated" situation more than anything else (no "official" signs). FWIW airport guard staff point paasengers there who wish to smoke.

2024, November update from Sacha S.: Update BKK: Aside the already mentioned Smoking Lounge in the SAT-1 Building there’s another Lounge between Gate 108 and 106. Pretty sure the whole Sat-1 building is smoker friendly

Opened Dec 2023: SAT-1 is connected to the Main Terminal Building (MTB) via a tunnel of eight tracks, about one kilometre long.

Main Terminal Building - Domestic - A Gates

There are no smoking areas in the domestic boarding area (A gates). Feedback from Vivienne B. on the 22nd August 2018.

Main Terminal Building - Concourse C :

As of 3rd February 2019 no smoking areas inside airports. This applies throughout Thailand.

Main Terminal Building - Concourse D:

2025, January update from Cintia: Smoking lounge near gate D5 Miracle lounge. Entry fee 1500 bhat but its a nice lounge with food, drinks, and open air large smoking terrace.

2024 update from Nicholas M.: For BKK, (24th of November 2024) : I confirm smoking terrace in Miracle lounge in front of gate D4 (building near security checks). Eligibility for the lounge without invitation: (priority pass and more): If you don't have any access membership, it's possible to have access for 1560THB (45USD) for 2 hours.

2024 update from T Hansen: 24th of September 2024 at D5 Miracle lounge has a nice outdoor smoking lounge.

2024, July update from Camille: There is at least one smoking area after security and passport control in the satellite building. It is located in front of gate S111A. July 2024.
