Smoking is only permitted in designated areas outside the terminals.
After Security Smoking
2025, February update from Andea t.: There is a small smoking room in the North Terminal, just after the duty free, before gates area. In February 2025 it was open but under renovation with a temporary service door.
2025, February update from Jan: Update for Feb 2025 @ Jeddah Airport: Found a smoker Lounge right side of Gate A41a.
Female Smoking Room

Male Smoking Rooms
Update from Snowwhite, November 2022: There are several Male smoking rooms and are quite easy to find. Photo below.
Update from DrSniffy, February 2022: New International terminal has male and female smoking. They are still finishing construction in some areas, so may not be accesible. There is a male smoking room near A22-24.
Update from Markus, March 2020: Smoking is permitted outside the terminal. After security, there are three smoking rooms: one females' smoking room and two males' smoking rooms. The male smoking rooms are large and very, very clean. I did not visit the female area. I was in this airport on 09. March 2020.
Update from Cmrsh, March 2020: New Saudi Terminal has several male and 1 female smoking areas. Smoking is also allowed outdoors.
This airport has expansion work in progress, to be completed in 2035, Phase 1 is now complete, phase 2 will be completed by 2025, the last phase by 2035.
JED was also voted 2nd worst airport in 2015.
