Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA), commonly known as Sea-Tac, is the primary airport serving the Seattle metropolitan area and the broader Pacific Northwest.
Located in SeaTac, Washington, about 13 miles south of downtown Seattle, the airport opened in 1944 and is operated by the Port of Seattle. It is a major hub for Alaska Airlines and a key base for Delta Air Lines, offering connections to 94 nonstop domestic destinations and 36 international routes, including Canada, Mexico, and Europe. With more than 52.6 million passengers in 2024, Sea-Tac ranks among the busiest airports in the United States. The airport features three concrete runways—the longest stretching 11,901 feet—and handles over 434,000 aircraft movements annually. Recognized for its customer-focused services, Sea-Tac has earned a 4-Star Skytrax Rating and was named Best Airport in North America three years in a row (2022–2024). Compact in size at just 4 square miles, it plays a vital role in connecting the Pacific Northwest to the rest of the world while supporting more than $33 billion in regional economic activity.
