Smoking is permitted outside the Terminal buildings at least 10 feet from the entrance doors unless otherwise marked. Ashtrays are provided outside the entrances.

Breaking smoking law has a fine of just $25.

There are no smoking facilities inside the terminal

For connecting flights you must enter the United States and smoke outside terminal then go through Security again for your flight.

These rules are in accordance with Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Regulations, Virginia Indoor Clean Air Act, Va. Code Section 15.2-2820 et seq; and Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code.

Violations of the Virginia Indoor Clean Air Act are punishable by a civil penalty of $25.00. This smoking policy shall be enforced by the Airport Police and Fire Code Enforcement Division personnel.
