There are no smoking facilities inside the terminal.

From Website: IAH has several  smoking areas outside each terminal at least 25 feet away from exit doors.

Terminal A

No smoking

Terminal B

No smoking

Terminal C

Update from Michael, March 2023: Terminal C: Outdoor smoking is better at the departures level as there are some benches to be found.

Feedback from Hylas (11th January 2017) - Confirming that smoking isn't allowed at the indoor bars, however, there are plenty of benches under cover around the terminal, outside.  Grabbed a cup of coffee and went out for a pleasant smoke next to the planters.   I found the terminal C re entry point to be hassle free - walked right thru.

Terminal D

Update from Michael, March 2023: Terminal D: a small coffeeshop can be found on the left hand side at departure level. At the TSA screening point in the middle of the terminal there's a screen indicating waiting times.

Terminal E

Update from Michael, March 2023: Terminal E: Due to construcion work going on there is currently no check-in nor security screening at Terminal E, departing passengers will be advised by airline where to check in. For arriving passengers smoking is possible when leaving the airport to the left after clearing customs. If you can choose or have enough time go to Terminal D as it's closest to terminal E maximizing fresh air time.

For connecting flights you must enter the United States and smoke outside terminal then go through Security again for your flight.
