Bubaque, Bijagos Islands, Guinea-Bissau
The airport is on the north end of the island. North approach and departure will be over the water. The 1.2-kilometre (3,900 ft) runway is unpaved.
THIS IS THE ONLY AIRPORT IN THE WORLD WITH A 10/10 RATING.
Smoking permitted anywhere outside the terminals.
2025, May, Info provided by Rene F.: Well, this is more for the fun of it, though the airport DOES have regular flights to/from Bissau city (Air Bijagos), and there IS an airport building.
As you can see from the picture smoking is allowed everywhere including on the air strip. Guinea-Bissauan airport staff has to perform manual bag checks upon arrival, and they allowed me even to continue smoking inside the small terminal building, essentially in their office. I made sure to open the window though.
